Equipment – Excellence in offshore drilling

With more than 50 years of experiences in drill rig development and manufacturing, and two decades in the offshore industry, we are experts for offshore drilling equipment. Our in-house developments provide reliable performance and short set up times. And that’s not all: with our bespoke drilling equipment we can work in any geotechnical condition – even in very hard rock.

BAUER Dive Drill

Our DD CU 44 is applicable for pin pile and mooring pile installation in any rock or soil condition as well as for relief drilling for piles (Drive-Drill-Drive). Water depths up to 100m and rock strength of +200 MPa are a welcome challenge. If required, we can operate up to four dive drills simultaneously. In difficult soils that are only partly suitable for pile driving, our Dive Drill can also assist to get the pile to its final depth by drilling out harder soils and rock when encountering refusal.

  • Torque: 440 kNm
  • Weight: 80 t
  • Drilling diameter: max. 4000 mmm
  • Drilling depth: 50 m
  • Maximum Height: 18 m

BAUER Seabed Drill

Developed for applications in competent rock and high energy currents, our underwater cased or uncased drilling rig. The BAUER Seabed Drill allows for quick and easy pile installations. Capable of working in currents of up to 12 knots, the BSD 3000 underwater drilling rig and subsea template is lowered to the seabed from a floating vessel and operated by remote control via umbilicals. It was successfully deployed for the first time for foundations for a tidal turbine in the waters offshore Orkney, Scotland.

  • Torque: 110 kNm
  • Weight: 60 t
  • Drilling diameter: 2300 mm
  • Drilling depth: 11 m
  • Maximum Height: 14 m

Seabed Coring Rig “MeBo”

Our exploration rig MeBo is designed for deployment in up to 4000 m water depth to investigate subsoils including hard stone up to 200 m below the seabed. It’s small, compact and lightweight dimensions allow it to be deployed on comparatively small vessels. The “MeBo” is remotely controlled from the vessel via an umbilical and can be operated in weather conditions dictated by the vessel capabilities once deployed. The drill rods for up to 200 m of drilling are stored within the drill rig carousel and are made up remotely.

  • Torque: 1.850 kNm
  • Weight: 16 t
  • Drilling diameter: 101 mm
  • Drilling depth: 200 m
  • Maximum Height: 8.4 m
